It's been a while, huh? How about an update?

Much has changed since my last journal entry in 2021. I married the love of my life, moved back to Washington from Montana, and have fallen in and out of love with photography multiple times. This is the reason for the lack of updates here on my site; it's hard to find the motivation to tackle the somewhat tedious task of working on a website when you struggle to find the motivation to do the one thing your website is about. But, thankfully, my wife and I moved from Whitefish, MT to Bellingham, WA in October of '25 and I've steadily felt the inspiration and motivation beginning to bloom in my new home. This new environment holds hints of familiarity coupled with the excitement of the unexplored, which has driven me to hit the road with my camera in-hand more times than I have since I moved away from Washington in 2020. As of now, it's only been a few months, and I haven't captured any "career-defining" shots as of yet. But I don't care. I'm once again enjoying the simplest aspect of my passion: the experience. In my opinion, this is what leads to the most authentic creations (in any type of art). I'm once again creating to create, and that feels SO good to say.
Now, don't get me wrong. I've captured a handful of shots that I'm very proud of over the past few years. These shots don't just come from my old home of Montana, but also other familiar places such as, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and the Canadian Rockies. Just as my work from years ago does, these photos forever hold the precious memories of the time when they were captured. A winter trip to Yellowstone with my best friends from Louisiana (shoutout Chase & Alyssa) for my birthday. A family trip to Banff in early summer, where I got to act as a tour guide for my family who had never experienced the Canadian Rockies. And many day trips in between. I've experienced painterly sunrises and sunsets, snow so deep that it reached my upper thigh, and the most incredible auroras I have seen yet. Some of these moments I was able to capture in photos, and others I simply experienced.
This post was somewhat of an impulse, so I don't have any intentions other than providing a glimpse into my life over the past 5 years and sharing my favorite images from that time. For the first time in a while, I'm optimistic for Randi and I's future. We are back in the place we both love and surrounded by our favorite pockets of nature. Thanks for reading and I hope you can find some joy and/or inspiration from the following images.
